'Hot Rod
Parade' at The Bristol Pegasus Motor Club '2010 Tuition and Track Day' - Castle
Combe, Saturday 14th August
After our great day at Castle Combe last
year, Tony Smith of The Pegasus Motor Club has had approval from the circuit
for another lunchtime "Hot-Rod Parade" - and this time we're encouraged to
bring along even more rods for the day.
Hot rods attending the event get
free entrance to the circuit, and a free place in the lunch-time "Hot-Rod
Parade" around the circuit.
The Tuition and Track Day is on Saturday
14th August from 9am 5pm, with the parade around 12:30pm. As Tony says,
the chance to run your rod around the racing circuit is an experience that
doesnt come along often.
Bristol rodders - please meet up the
Griffin early enough to set off by 10.00am, to get us to Castle Combe by
10.30am. If you're making your own way there, please arrive around 10.30am, and
enter through the Competitors Entrance, off the B4039 - look for the Bristol
Pegasus signs.

Now xmas has
passed and the new year is upon us we should all be planning this years events.
With all the bad weather the past couple of weeks have bestowed upon us I was
surprised to hear that Paul Quick did take his newly MOT'd 'T' out over the
seasonal break. With a couple of runs under his belt he's now put it back in
his garage to do a few odd jobs ready for the coming season.
In
December's news we put a picture of a model A being built and asked if anyone
could place the vehicle. The rod in progress belongs to Mel Thomas and has been
in build for approx 28 years? Many of us older locals will remember his
progress with it sharing the same garage as brother Phil's 3-window build. More
pics and info on Mel's build will be added soon.
This years events are
coming in fast, and for anyone who wants to use their car this year here are a
few in progress: - Classics at the castle, an event held in the
wonderful Sherbourne Castle grounds. - Our yearly run to Haynes
museum, and also another show - The Extreme Wheels show also being held
down at the Haynes museum. - For those into soul / Tamala Motown a live
music weekender at Dartmouth, where we have been invited to display some cars.
This I am really looking forward to as this was the music of my youth. -
Castle Combe motor circuit would also like us to display again at one of
their events, dates still to be arranged.
As we are only a couple of
weeks into the year, this gives us all something to look forward to, and I'm
sure more will follow.
New cars to hit the roads this year... there are
three steel model B's, all packing huge engines, two roadsters, and one five
window. Details will be released when the owners allow. Hopefully the two '36
roadsters will be out, along with Nicks V12 'T', as I said this year should be
special so let's hope the weather will allow us to use our rides.
We've
had an e-mail from an evening Post reporter who was asking if we had any events
January / February for a feature.. this still has to be arranged, as we'll need
good weather.
I hope you all liked the write up in the Gasser about last
years Pegasus Castle Combe event, I think Ian's write up did us proud.
