After missing Grillstock 2010 (it had clashed with The Surf Cruisers
Weekender) we were lucky enough to be invited back in 2011.
Seven hotrods met up on a hot sunny day to travel from Queens Square
to our allocated spot on Bristol's Harbourside. |

This was to be the home debut of Nick Leonards V12 T Purple Pain.
The organisers had given us a nice spot on the slope between the main
docks area and the arena, also they gave each person present a free
meal and drinks voucher. |

BBQ displays took place all day long whilst the music stage featured
various groups and solo performers. We were lucky enough to be there the
day Hayseed Dixie took to the stage as they were excellent.
Sicknote Steve took a liking to Ryans Chevy van and did a solo
performance perched on the front wing.
By five o'clock visitors were dispersing, and we were allowed to leave
once the health and safety officers gave their okay.
A nice local day out, and well worth the short trip down town.

(Grillstock is a taste of
the Deep South - with the UK’s biggest US-style barbecue competition,
music festival and celebration of alfresco living, taking in food and
drink, gardening, cooking equipment and everything else people require
for an outdoor summer lifestyle.) |
