Way back in sunny
July a convoy of ten cars left Bristol for this years 'Classics at the Castle'
held at Sherborne Castle in Dorset. We left McDonalds Longwell Green about 8
o'clock, stopping at Ston Easton on route to join up with the cars traveling
from the other side of town. It took about an hour to arrive at Sherborne where
we were met by Russ Baker in his Devon, he had traveled down separately
stopping overnight just for the show. Our pitch was excellent right in front of
the castle as we had been promised, giving a good back drop for photos. |

Our turn out of
cars was just as impressive featuring three Model A's, three Model B's, a Model
T, a Fordson, a Devon, a Dorset, and an Austin 16. |

By 9.30 cars were
set up and everyone went their own ways either looking around the stalls, food
halls, grounds, castle, auction house, other exhibits or just chilling out.
People travel from all over the British Isles to exhibit here, showing
how popular this event has become, but it still baffles me why you have to pay
again to gain access to the live auction. Near on a 1000 cars were in
attendance with 2 separate Rallies finishing in the Castle grounds making sure
there is something for all tastes an event not to be missed.
We have
been invited back next year and told the spot in front of the Castle is ours
again.
