After the normal
months of frantic phone calls to obtain entrants, everything came together on a
cold Friday afternoon late in January 2006.
This year we exhibited in
the Exmoor Hall, where we were allocated three stands covering 75% of the
available space. |
We all arrived
after dinner and then had to thread our way past various other exhibitors as
our hall was right at the back. It's always a joy to see the faces of
these people, due to the mixed reaction hot rods have on the classic car
enthusiasts - and with seven running V8 and V6's purring along, we
certainly get noticed. |

Exhibiting their
cars at this show, we had: Nick Lang (37 Ford Sedan) Andy House (36 Ford
3-window) Lee Pike (32 Roadster) Rich Roberts (29 Model A) Craig House
(Ford Anglia) Dr Bob Jefferies (32 Coupe) and Mel Chave (32 Roaster) |
As an additional
exhibit, Nick Barnett trailered along his '32 pickup rolling
chassis.
This went down very well with the crowd as the work on this is
excellent, and it caused more than a few people headaches as to what power
plant was fitted - and as for the gearbox, did anyone have a clue? |

Listening to
visitors comments, I received the impression that our standard of vehicles went
down very well , and this also came to light with good write ups in both
Practical Classics and Classic Car weekly. |

To cap what was
a very cold but worthwhile weekend, we came away with three trophies including
Lee Pike winning best paint in show. This made both Lee and Jerry Denning laugh
as they both thought how much the paint work had sunk over the years of abuse
the much-travelled B had endured.
Thanks to all who took part - as
it does mean giving up your own time, and all you receive is a china mug in
return. |
